In The Talented Mr Ripley, Tom Ripley (Matt Damon) a boy looking for a good life, scrapes together a trip to Italy under false protenses to bring wealthy Dickie Greenleaf (Jude Law).But while he falls in love with Dickies lifestyle and world, and obviously as an imposter grows in borrowed assurances, acquiring the rich life of Dickie and his gorgeous girlfriend Marge (Gwenyth Paltrow) begin to tire of their plaything, how ever Tom is no toy. Controversil issue with Greenleaf have all the flamboyance that Ripley lacks. The director Anthony Minghella (The English Patient) has attempted the film in an era which suites him (fifties). Damons performance and Minghella's directoring does not manage to pull this film off.
